PokerStars’ Inaugural SCOOP a Smashing Success
April 14, 2009
The first ever Poker Stars Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) has finally come to an end, and the general consensus is that both PokerStars and its members – amateur and pro alike – are thrilled with the outcome.
Among the notable winners of this year’s inaugural 2-week event is Terrence Chan (aka “Unassigned”) who won two SCOOP events, both FL Holdem events – the first the $530 buy-in 6-max event (for $5,200) and the second the $5,200 6-max event (for $134,887).
Meanwhile James Obst (aka “Andy McLEOD”) who won the high-stakes Mixed Holdem event for the $184,000 first prize.
The big winner, though, was Jude Ainsworth (aka “J. Thaddeus”) who took down the $10,300 buy-in main event for $963,338.
One of the biggest attractions of Poker Stars SCOOP was its 3 different playing levels to suit each players budget – with a low stakes buy-in, mid-stakes buy-in, and high-stakes buy-in level for each of the 22 events. The winner of the mid-stakes main event was “J.C. Alvarado” and the winner of the low-stakes main event was “JannotLapin”.
Sounds like come next Spring there’s sure to be a SCOOP II.
